Have you ever seen that slogan that the education unions like to use " If you think education is expensive, TRY IGNORANCE"? At some point I guess the liberals understand, based on this slogan, that IGNORANCE can lead to tyranny. Ignorant people, people without education or information, will vote for dictators- Hitler was elected. What is used to propagandize and control these "ignorant" people? Class warfare is ALWAYS what is used. You see,the dictator says, the reason you are poor is that someone else has taken advantage of you and we are going to set things right by TAKING what these unfair people have, and GIVING it to you!! So- vote for us!! What a deal-of course the "ignorant" will vote for you! Why do people respond to sales at the store? There is something real cheap- getting two for one- getting something for nothing. But when it comes to voting for government- what the ignorant don't understand- is the consequences of what they are voting for.
Apparently Scott Walker, the governor of Wisconsin who stood up to the teacher's union, is all in on Common Core. Seriously Scott?!! The Federal government is promising big money to states that fall in line for the National Education Standards and Scott wants the money. States are cash strapped beyond belief with all the WELFARE they are paying out - Federal grants that have gone away leaving states to pay the tab for programs for everything from advertisements to brush your teeth to urban foresters and federal curbs- along with government unions that are sucking the life out of taxpayers. So Scott wants the money. Hey Scott- have you thought about the CONSEQUENCES of what you are giving up? Dear Scott, federal control of our schools takes away LOCAL FREEDOM AND CONTROL!! Federal government control of schools is what they had in the Soviet Union, what every dictatorship has. The Feds want this control so they can Propagandize our children- from environmentalism to sex to data collection- to whatever the latest lobby wants.
Now, maybe Scott just doesn't want to believe this- the money is so enticing. Here's a nice little example for you Scott. A lawyer in Helena had his daughter accused of bullying in school because she didn't want to play with someone- she wanted to choose her own friends!! Our children are now being bullied by the schools!! They will watch them interact in all these Common Core proscribed"diverse" teams and determine if they interact "effectively" and "respectfully". This is subjective and violates the constitution in so many ways it is hard for me to count- let's start with FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, THE RIGHT TO PURSUE MY OWN HAPPINESS- and so on. Maybe I'm a private person and I'd just like to do my own work. Maybe I don't want to share my answers. Just maybe I should be graded on the quality of my WORK and WHAT I KNOW ,not someone else's opinion of whom I should associate with and what I should say and how I should say it.
IGNORANCE is definitely expensive Scott. I believe many liberals are WILLFULLY IGNORANT. They will give up their freedom and the freedom of their children based on CLASS WARFARE IDEOLOGY. They need to quit blindly following this ideology, there is no panacea. The WAR ON POVERTY- has been going on for fifty years and it has created more crime, more drug use, a breakdown in morals, corruption in the courts (many judges get their jobs not because of their abilities but because they can be relied on to do what they are told), corruption in the government, more poverty, more unwed births, government imploding with debt,- no panacea at all. These people- IGNORANT BECAUSE OF IDEOLOGY- will continue to vote to give away all our freedoms without questioning what in the world they are voting for. The next time a liberal asks you what YOUR IDEA is tell them it is the rugged individual who has integrity and pride and can take care of himself. A government that is not in debt and not corrupt because it is so huge- oh yes, and FREEDOM FROM GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRATS!! Actually, we can brush our own teeth without a government sponsored billboard telling us to do that- we even know how to feed our own children without Michelle Obama telling us what they should eat.

THE ARCHITECTS OF MODERNITY
Certain people among us who think of themselves as ha ha "progressives" - think that they and their movement are the ARCHITECTS OF MODERNITY. Actually they are not. They would like to be- and they would like to trick you into thinking that they are- but alas- THEY ARE NOT. They have a vision for sure- one that has people directed to their station in life "the poor", the "homeless", the "disabled" and so on. Conservatives don't divide people up that way- they see all people as equal and having the same opportunities.
A grandmother I know, who is raising her granddaughter, had her going to one of our "title" schools here- Federal Government delineated as "poor" school. The little girl started losing self esteem and self confidence. She moved her out of that school to a school that is not "title" and the child has voila!! self esteem again. Why is that? I think it's expectations. If you are told you are a victim and need free food all day long- you might start to think you ARE A VICTIM!!
When I was in school we were all the same. Oh, their might have been a kid whose parents could afford store bought goodies like Twinkies- but really- we were all the same. There was no dividing kids up- everybody was expected to be disciplined and to work hard if they expected to succeed. We were told America was the land of opportunity and we believed it. If your life got messed up it was because you messed it up. I graduated when I was 17 and I went to work- and college at the same time. I worked days and went to school at night. I shared an apartment with a couple of other girls. I never even considered government assistance- that was for welfare people- not me. No one took welfare- it just wasn't done. Now the people who think they are the ARCHITECTS OF MODERNITY, think there is a NEW WORLD ORDER ( same term Hitler used) that will have just about everybody on some type of welfare.
Instead of working two jobs people will just get food stamps. Instead of delaying gratification and staying off drugs people will just go to food share and label themselves "homeless". Instead of being a rugged individual who is proud and self reliant - a person will accept their status as an underachiever and lay around waiting for the next handout.
These people who think they are the ARCHITECTS of our FUTURE think project based learning will bring people out of poverty!! SERIOUSLY RANDI ? Randi Weingartner, the head of the teacher's union, was on the Megan Kelly show parroting this nonsense. Megan asked her what "project based learning" was, but when Randi said robots, she didn't probe further. Hey Randi, seriously, where's your data? Where's your research? How is this all going to happen? I'll tell you something Randi- JOBS ARE WHAT BRING PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY!! PEOPLE WITH EXPECTATIONS OF HARD WORK, DISCIPLINE, SELF RELIANCE, FORTITUDE AND DELAYING GRATIFICATION BRING PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY. JUST ASK ANYONE WHO HAS MADE ANY SUCCESS OUT OF THEIR LIFE- THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE!! Government programs and doing drugs in Denver just isn't going to get you there. But do these over stuffed government types who think they are the ARCHITECTS OF MODERNITY really want a free America that doesn't need them? I'm guessing not.
Conservatives have their own idea of "21st century skills" and this involves all the values listed above. It also includes learning real skills by buckling down to the books and taking personal responsibility- not visiting with your friends and doing only what you like, and what is "creative" and "exciting" and "fun".
The only thing the "progressives" have done is destroy this country with the old failed ideas of the Communists. They like to take credit for the Civil Rights movement- but sorry- the Democrats in the south fought Civil Rights as long as they could. No, these people can take credit for societal break down and economic implosion and debt. They can take credit for propaganda and lies that they use to try to get more and more control- like the Global Warming scam and the alternative energy scam.Community Centers are not the same as schools. They can drop the "nothing has changed" garbage- senior citizens going to schools to get healthcare is not the same as using the gym for basketball practice!! How stupid do they think or hope the American people are? They can take credit for the break down of our justice system and government corruption that we've never seen the likes of before. They can take credit for turning our public school system into propaganda centers where children learn to separate from their parents with their own opinions and points of view when they're five. Old Communist ideas are not a hold on our future. Liberals are NOT THE ARCHITECTS OF MODERNITY!!

CORRUPTION
Central planning always leads to corruption and the United States is no exception. When you hear about all the corruption going on - there is so much that they don't even become scandals anymore-just reports- you might feel like you are living in a banana republic.
Let's start with Carlos Slim- off and on the richest man in the world. He has made FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS off of the Obama Phone program. You see, you get charged a fee on your phone every month to buy cell phones for the "poor". For every cell phone that is given out the government pays Carlos $9.25 a month.What a deal- Carlos might even just give those cell phones away- in fact- you really don't have to prove your income in most cases and some people get more than one phone!! Carlos must be laughing his head off on his way to the bank- he's rich because they don't have much of a welfare system in Mexico where he is a citizen- that's why all the poor Mexicans come to the United States for services!! He doesn't have to pay the taxes and he collects all the telephone fees that the sucker Americans are forced to pay!!
The list goes on- today it was reported that the U.N. is giving low income reports to ambassadors so that they can sign up for medicaid- this qualifies them for welfare and they are taking vacations and buying cars on our dime! Forty nine ambassadors have been located so far- hmm- do you think it has stopped at forty nine? In the Wall Street Journal today it is reported that a judge gave her good friend a honey of a job- $1,000 an hour to investigate Apple- but whoops- the friend doesn't know how to investigate Apple so he takes his $1,000 an hour and then has hired someone else at $1000 an hour and sends the bill of $2,000 an hour to Apple. The consumer pays for all of this.
In schools we used to have fair competition among curriculum companies. There were so many curriculum companies to choose from- Silver Burdett, McGraw Hill, Houghton Miflin, Scott Foresman - to name a few. Then the Federal Government got involved- now it looks as if Pearson will just walk off with the prize. All schools have the same curriculum- which is copyrighted- and all books must have the same curriculum. No more need to compete or improve or innovate- Common Core has taken care of all that. Common Core tests will be on computers- schools better anti up to Microsoft or they won't be able to take the tests. No choice, no competition, no decisions to make - all taken care of in Washington. School administrators are not paid to think- they must go along- and they all do. Our schools have become corrupt power cartels dictated to from Washington. All they have to do is go along. Who really cares if the kids are learning anything or if all of these ideas are bad and destructive? You don't get paid for bucking the system- and the amount of money in that system is hard to fathom.
You know, since no one is thinking anymore, you just go with the flow and don't ask for proof either. Did you hear that they falsified the employment data right before the election? Another corruption report that just came and went into the ether. People from the census bureau were reporting that they were told to makeup positive data. In school employees just say programs work- like Montessori or Dare or the Gifted and Talented program- no data needed. When asked about conflicts- like" How come Montessori says every kid should learn at their own speed and Common Core insists that every kid will learn the same things at the same time in every grade?"- we are told Common Core doesn't have grade levels!! Common Core not only has grade levels it has a scope and sequence!!
The bigger the government in Washington gets the more corrupt and unaccountable they become- the more destructive and secretive they become- the more they need the press to be their pubic relations department and cover for them. We certainly see that in the paper here- they run a positive made up story about Common Core weekly - ON THE FRONT PAGE!! They bury the truth and won't do investigative reporting. If they DID do investigative reporting they might report that the Helena schools in following the Community Centers plan for "21st century schools" has every intention of closing at least two schools- though the superintendent has PROMISED NO SCHOOLS WOULD BE CLOSED.
All this sadness and lying and corruption which leads to public distrust and economic collapse has been brought on by the central planners. We can only hope that the American Dream will not die on the bed of these socialist nim com poops.

THE SPIN
Have you noticed THE SPIN coming out of the White House about Obama care? I love the new one- health subsidies are now your "opportunity". Yes, the land of the free and the brave, the land of opportunity where my grandparents came to from Europe to build their life based on freedom and the opportunity to work and raise their class status and life, now bases its opportunity on GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES!! THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY IS NOW THE OPPORTUNITY TO PICK SOMEONE ELSES POCKET, not to achieve FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY!!
Socialists are terrible at governing because for the large part they have no real life experience outside of government, NO COMMON SENSE, NO UNDERSTANDING OF HUMAN NATURE, and their ideas are TERRIBLE FAILURES, but they are very good at THE SPIN. Do you want to know why they are so good at THE SPIN? They are so good at THE SPIN - BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD VOTE FOR THEM IF THEY TOLD THE TRUTH!!
Ever since Marx rolled out his ideas his followers have had to SPIN, to misrepresent and to lie, to get what they wanted. No matter how many times Marxism fails there are people who will just not give up on the idea that government can control lives and fortunes and create a panacea. There is just never an end to people who think they are so much better and so much smarter than YOU that they must social engineer you and your children, and take your money, so that THEY can create the perfect world. This is their idea of freedom.
I'm involved in schools because that is where the HEART OF THE SOCIALIST MOVEMENT IS PLAYING OUT. If you go to the Federal Department of Education website- www.ed.gov/pubs/edpubs.html. you will find an archived document, written in 1998 titled- "Schools
As Centers of Community". If you read this document you find the socialist dream of HEALTH CENTERS in the school that will service the WHOLE COMMUNITY among many other "services" that will connect and socialize us all . Guess who gets to pay for all this? Think real hard- yes- it's you!!
Guess who gets to decide what we all "must know" and "must do" and "must have"- well- that isn't you. Just drop your kids off - our socialist friends and bureaucrats from Washington will take care of all
of THAT. What are you complaining about? They'll probably be so kind as to LET you come to a consensus group and help pick a version of WHAT THEY WANT.
Did you know that our schools are "national school facilities" sic . Yes, our schools belong to the Federal Government- our schools are to be planned and evaluated and looked after by the Feds!! Hmm- I thought public schools were a STATES prerogative. Whoever handed our schools over to the Feds? If states want new school buildings they will build them- the bureaucrats in Washington just don't need to worry their ugly little heads about it. But alas- they have a 59 page document detailing exactly how schools should be built and the process that every school district must go through.
The Helena school district is on step 7. Such an opportunity for socialist renewal !! According to Richard Riley (Secretary of Education under Clinton ) our "national schools" are in need of repair and this is such an opportunity to rebuild them in the socialist image (he calls it "21st century schools"). Might I mention that THE SCHOOLS ARE IN BAD REPAIR BECAUSE THEIR PUPPET MASTERS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PUT OUT SO MANY GRANTS THAT HAVE ADDED COSTS AND PROGRAMS AND THEN WENT AWAY, THAT THE GENERAL FUNDS CAN'T MAINTAIN THE SCHOOLS ANYMORE? Oh yes, the socialists create the crisis and then they have the solution!! My, my, - small schools where kids aren't in "isolated" classrooms where they have to listen. Oh no- now they will run around and talk to their friends!! They will be "doing" rather than receiving and "creating" rather than recreating!! Oh yes, they know so much that they will be doing medical research I suppose instead of recreating those old science experiments that teach them things - like the old dissecting a frog. No quiet focused environments where you accumulate KNOWLEDGE- oh no-they will learn by discussing their opinions on global warming (their teacher's opinion really), with their friends.
The socialists vision of the 21st century is that , as Hillary Clinton so eloquently put it, "We are all in this together". So, the children in school will grow up in this perverted zoo like environment, all depending on one another and looking to the government for their opinions and their lunch. They will learn very little except how to be dependent and vote for Democrats. This is a tragic and sick situation and America better learn to KILL THE SPIN before it is too late.

Oh yes, they know so much that they will be doing medical research I suppose instead of recreating those old science experiments that teach them things - like the old dissecting a frog. No quiet focused environments where you accumulate KNOWLEDGE- oh no-they will learn by discussing their opinions on global warming (their teacher's opinion really), with their friends.
The socialists vision of the 21st century is that , as Hillary Clinton so eloquently put it, "We are all in this together". So, the children in school will grow up in this perverted zoo like environment, all depending on one another and looking to the government for their opinions and their lunch. They will learn very little except how to be dependent and vote for Democrats. This is a tragic and sick situation and America better learn to KILL THE SPIN before it is too late.

THE LIFE'S BLOOD
The LIFE'S BLOOD of every wannabe dictator, bureaucrat and autocrat is the MONEY!! Our Helena School District just got their levy passed (second try- the mighty titans don't have to take no for an answer - that's democracy I guess- the titans get to keep going back again until they get what they want) anyway, the mighty titans got their LIFE'S BLOOD and they are so happy- now they can ask the public for the ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR BOND to build their -as a board member said- co--- I mean schools- she wanted to say community centers so badly!!
I think any honest person was raised to understand that your ends do not justify your means. This is not the case with liberal bureaucrats. They want what they want and they get it any way they can, which usually involves lying. You see, they think they are so RIGHT and so much smarter than you, that they have the RIGHT to mislead, coverup and lie to you ( like all good FASCISTS). The mill levy propaganda would have been hysterically funny if it wasn't just so tragic. Apparently, Amy Yerko was brought to Helena Montana from Chicago, to help them plan their maintenance!! The $250,000.00 spent out of the last levy to hire an architectural firm to hold town meetings (no architecture) where Amy Yerko was drug in , were just hired to "help plan maintenance!!". Well the people bought it, at least the Liberals did. We'll see if the Liberals will swallow the ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. Kent Kultgen, the superintendent, sure hopes they do- his job depends on it. You see, non-profits need free space and head count to keep meeting their bottom line. With sequester it becomes even more important for the schools to anti up. The bond will let them build the community centers with the office space and rooms for all the non profits to just move in and hopefully become a part of the school tax base!!
Our superintendent has taken it upon himself to rename our schools- we now have Helena High Title and Bryant Elementary Title etc. Title stands for a federal program called Title one. You see, if you are a "Title" school you get to apply for all the federal grants that are the LIFE'S BLOOD of all the socialist non profits. I mean gee whiz- jobs need to be paid for and everybody needs raises don't they? Why should they care about the taxpayer? Why should they care about the parents of these "poor" students being able to pay their bills? I'm sure there's another welfare program to help them pay their property taxes!! "The Federal Government can print money, just let them pay for it" - I have actually heard this said by liberals and have even seen it printed- wow, what lack of understanding about our economy and the consequences to any economy when governments print money.
Title schools give free food and programs to EVERYBODY irregardless of their parents income!!Wow- they deserve it right- and anyway the food service and non profits are making their LIFE'S BLOOD so who cares what kind of values they are teaching the children. The schools can pick any day in the month- so the secretary better jump on any day they are so lucky to reach the 40%! Don't miss it!! We love to have poverty schools!! And we are so proud of it too!! And how does the secretary know that the family really makes the income they report on the free and reduced lunch form? She doesn't. She only has to check a few forms at random and call the employer. Most of it is just the honor system. Would anyone lie to get free stuff? You be the judge.
To conclude this voyage into the socialist wonderland I will just tell you that the state superintendent Denise Juneau, as reported by the school superintendent at the board meeting, came to him and said "You are underreporting the number of homeless. Districts your size should have more homeless!". Well, he got busy on that one and got the number up from 40 to 120!! You see, the state office of public instruction has a department for the homeless- and well- how can they get their LIFE'S BLOOD (grant money) if they don't have the head count!! ARE NEWSPAPERS PROVIDING COMMUNICATION OR MANIPULATION?
Today is voting day in Helena, Montana. The people have been voting for weeks with write in ballots- our citizens are not allowed to vote at the polls for city or school elections anymore. Who cares about secure elections- the bureaucrats love write in elections- so much less work. But on to the question at hand- do the people have the information they should have before they vote?
The FREE PRESS is a cornerstone of our freedom. How can you exercise your freedom when you don't have the information? The FREE PRESS, otherwise known as THE NEWSPAPERS, are counted on to tell the people the truth. These are the very people that should have known that Obama was lying about the healthcare bill BEFORE it was passed. They didn't scramble to find a"'Deep Throat"like in the old Watergate scandal days. They just weren't so curious about whether your health insurance policy would be canceled or if the price of your health insurance would really go down $2,500.00 a year for a family of four. They didn't even care that your insurance would obviously go up when insurance companies were REQUIRED to offer more services and accept EVERYBODY - even if they just got sick ( kind of like signing up for car insurance after you have an accident and the insurance company being forced to pay for the accident). Such a lack of curiosity by the press, such a benefit for lefty central government control freak liars, such a tragedy for freedom in America.
Here's what happened in Helena. We have a Helena School District building levy on the ballot today. My husband asked a simple question- "If you want us to vote more money for you, could we please see how you spent the money in the last levy?". It took us SIX MONTHS of asking to finally get this information. Can you believe in these days of technology they couldn't just print out a spread sheet? These are the incompetents that are doing home visits in your home.
So my husband went through the information and found some very curious things. One of the things he found was that with THIRTY FIVE boilers past their life expectancy our district decided to put almost a million dollars ($875,000.00) into a school that is filled with FEDERAL PROGRAMS , a school that IS CLOSED TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STUDENTS. Instead of replacing BOILERS and fixing ROOFS, instead of looking out for the welfare and safety of the general school population, they financed fixing buildings for HEAD START!! My husband wrote a Your Turn article with all of the pertinent information and school district referenced sources. THE NEWSPAPER WOULD NOT PRINT THE YOUR TURN!! My husband emailed the editor and called the editor (answering machine) to no avail. Your Turns for the levy were printed but not my husbands with the correct information. He wasn't advocating for or against- he just wanted the information out there.
The News Paper gave the Helena School District FOUR PAGES to advocate for their levy (plus a front page story and big above the fold picture) but they would not print the Your Turn that gave the facts. Even an old warrior in these school wars such as myself was startled at what came next. The Helena School District listed all the projects that they had done with the former levy- BUT THEY NEVER MENTIONED THE $875,000.00 THEY SPENT ON RAY BJORK SCHOOL!!
My husband called the newspaper to point out this very important fact. Only one other project had more money spent on it than Ray Bjork. Ray Bjork spending amounted to more than ten percent of total outlays- surely they would want to correct their story! Wrong again- they buried it.
I'm sorry to all the citizens of Helena that missed this information. THIS IS HOW THE NEWSPAPERS MANIPULATE YOUR VOTE INSTEAD OF PROTECTING FREEDOM. THE NEWSPAPERS HAVE ABDICATED THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PUBLIC IN ORDER TO BOW TO THE LIES OF LEFTISTS THAT CAN NEVER TELL YOU THE REAL TRUTH BECAUSE THEY WOULD LOSE YOUR VOTE IF YOU KNEW WHO THEY REALLY WERE.

C O N T R O L
The United States Constitution was written to give YOU control over your government- put another way - to stop the Federal government from assuming too much power. Socialists don't understand this, and don't like our constitution. They are comfortable with the government controlling almost all aspects of our lives. They don't have faith in people being able to take care of themselves- they think we all NEED the Federal Government or we would starve to death or not be able to raise and educate our children or not have health care and so on.
Do you want your public school to now take over your child's pre K life? The federal government program Head Start has a stated goal of taking control over your children from the WOMB! Is that O.K. with you? Where does the Federal government bow out and the family, individual and local government take over?
Our government has a separation of powers to stop dictatorial control- decisions are checked and balanced between the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of the government. But that is not the only way that freedom is maintained. Freedom is maintained by local governments maintaining their own control. School districts providing education as they see fit with state oversight is one way of maintaining freedom. As mentioned on this blog many times- unfortunately our local school districts and state departments of education are now nothing more than puppets which are controlled by Washington D.C. Do you think the bureaucrats in Washington are so much smarter than you and your husband/wife that they SHOULD determine what your children SHOULD be taught and HOW they should be taught? Are they so much smarter than your local school board or school superintendents or teachers? Are they so smart that they should run your city and state too? Are you really so incompetent that you can't provide food, daycare,education, safety, or healthcare without Federal Government involvement?
For two hundred years American Citizens took care of themselves and their families, now they are told they just can't do it without Federal Government control. I know they are wrong and you do to. Get the
Federal Government power mongers out of our lives and homes. Common Core is no better - with no research or trials it is imploding everywhere and as the president of the union said "may be the end of public education". The twelve people in the Federal Reserve working their "magic" are going to cause us all great destruction and pain. The do gooders have brought our Federal Debt to astronomical proportions. Let's just try to say it one more time- YOU can provide for your children, YOU can choose your healthcare for yourself from free markets, YOU can decide on the best education for your children, and your local school boards and the educators you hire can provide good
education. YOU can feed and clothe your children and find daycare for them and decide how to raise them - ALL WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

STANDING UP FOR WHAT IS GOOD AND WHAT IS RIGHT
Is change always good? Obviously NOT, and yet many of us feel some how intimidated by the left to think that we must always throw away what we know to be GOOD, and what we know to be RIGHT, to appease them. Some how we are made to feel that if we do not endorse or take a version of their garbage we just aren't smart or aren't with it or just don't understand. This has got to stop.
If something works well we need to keep it. For centuries cultures have respected their elders and respected the knowledge and experience of the past. Fast forward to today and we are told to criticize and disdain anything that was not invented yesterday. Is there anything that has been taken away from you by "progress" that you miss? Every time I go down to the center part of town I admire their wonderful lamp posts. I don't know how this particular neighborhood was able to keep their beautiful lamp posts while the rest of us had to go to these huge telephone poles that have lights that are too bright and obnoxiously turn off and on, but they did manage to keep some of the beauty and grace of the past. Our schools have given way to every piece of nonsense from the left ,and our school superintendents and school boards have become nothing but puppets on strings managed by Washington. What a shame that we have lost the beauty and wisdom of the past just to accommodate the agendas of crass people that are experimenting with our children's education. Maybe we could find the secret of keeping the past, as they did in the old neighborhood downtown, by just standing up and saying NO - our ideas of the past were better than what you are telling us.
Our schools have been savaged by these "progressives" and somehow they never get blamed for the damage they have done. One of the first things the "progressives" did was to throw out our consumables so they wouldn't have to spend money on them and they could use the money to bring in the artists in residency and other programs to pay off their constituencies. Consumables are the workbooks and spellers that children could work and write in. The reading workbooks were replaced with "whole language" reading. The children just read whole books and talk about them and answer questions or do little assignments that the teacher makes up. Teachers are not curriculum writers and there is a big difference between the two. Curriculum writers spend their time preparing cohesive structured lessons that teach skills. They structure learning from grade to grade to build learning. Good experienced teachers could be hired to write curriculum but this is a FULL TIME JOB. Our students are not getting good structured developmental reading instruction when their teacher makes up assignments hither and yon while she's trying to teach and grade papers and do the other ten thousand things that teachers must do.
Reading workbooks were hard. You could always tell which students were having reading difficulty by how they did with the workbook. Reading workbooks taught and made children practice all of the reading skills from finding the main idea to determining a sequence of events , predicting an outcome or drawing a conclusion. They taught reading of fiction as well as reading of informational text. Students had to alphabetize and read graphs and charts to ascertain information. This was real skill building. But it all went away one day without any input from the teachers. They were just told that there wouldn't be any more workbooks. Well, that made teaching easier, so much less to correct, but what did it do to reading instruction? Is reading a book silently and then writing a paragraph about it building real reading skill the way workbooks did? I don't think so. It does contribute to the rampant grade inflation that's going on- just write something and your teacher will pass you with a good grade. You don't actually have to know anything. So the question remains, ARE THE PROGRESSIVES THAT DICTATE OUR LIVES REALLY ALL THAT SMART?
So the PROGRESSIVES are now going to fix the schools that they have ruined, with their new program called Common Core. In usual fashion the people that wrote this curriculum were not child development experts and had no idea what they were doing but had a great idea of the agenda they
wanted to push into the schools. They did no trials and have no research to back up any of their grand claims, but they practice public relations and propaganda messages superbly.
In Kindergarten they will have little five year olds, that are just learning to be independent and explore their world, sit in groups and "Speak audibly and clearly and present their thoughts, ideas and feelings clearly." They will also" Build on others thoughts and listen to others with care". They will present a piece of written work and listen intently to their peers "constructive criticism" and then incorporate these ideas into their work. Does this sound like a five year old to you? It sounds like they will be taking our little children and putting their lights under a huge burden of self doubt and stress to me. Child psychologists point out that these skills are completely age inappropriate. Once again we must tell our brethren on the left that children ARE NOT LITTLE ADULTS!! Children are children and they need to work individually and be proud of who they are from what they accomplish themselves.
Western civilization has accomplished so much by building on accomplishments of those that came before us- sky scrapers rise from physics geniuses of the past and cancer cures and heart transplants rise out of the sweat equity of Madame Curie and Louis Pasture. We don't throw out what we know- we embrace it and build on it. Be skeptical of every new thing that the "progressives" come up with. They do not research and they spend most of their time on public relations and propaganda. TAKE BACK YOUR RIGHT TO EMBRACE AND LEARN FROM THE PAST AND BE PROUD OF IT. THESE "PROGRESSIVES" DON'T KNOW EVEN HALF OF WHAT THEY PRETEND TO KNOW AND THEIR IDEAS ARE RIDDLED WITH FAILURE AND DESTRUCTION THAT THEY REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE.
If something works well we need to keep it. For centuries cultures have respected their elders and respected the knowledge and experience of the past. Fast forward to today and we are told to criticize and disdain anything that was not invented yesterday. Is there anything that has been taken away from you by "progress" that you miss? Every time I go down to the center part of town I admire their wonderful lamp posts. I don't know how this particular neighborhood was able to keep their beautiful lamp posts while the rest of us had to go to these huge telephone poles that have lights that are too bright and obnoxiously turn off and on, but they did manage to keep some of the beauty and grace of the past. Our schools have given way to every piece of nonsense from the left ,and our school superintendents and school boards have become nothing but puppets on strings managed by Washington. What a shame that we have lost the beauty and wisdom of the past just to accommodate the agendas of crass people that are experimenting with our children's education. Maybe we could find the secret of keeping the past, as they did in the old neighborhood downtown, by just standing up and saying NO - our ideas of the past were better than what you are telling us.
Our schools have been savaged by these "progressives" and somehow they never get blamed for the damage they have done. One of the first things the "progressives" did was to throw out our consumables so they wouldn't have to spend money on them and they could use the money to bring in the artists in residency and other programs to pay off their constituencies. Consumables are the workbooks and spellers that children could work and write in. The reading workbooks were replaced with "whole language" reading. The children just read whole books and talk about them and answer questions or do little assignments that the teacher makes up. Teachers are not curriculum writers and there is a big difference between the two. Curriculum writers spend their time preparing cohesive structured lessons that teach skills. They structure learning from grade to grade to build learning. Good experienced teachers could be hired to write curriculum but this is a FULL TIME JOB. Our students are not getting good structured developmental reading instruction when their teacher makes up assignments hither and yon while she's trying to teach and grade papers and do the other ten thousand things that teachers must do.
Reading workbooks were hard. You could always tell which students were having reading difficulty by how they did with the workbook. Reading workbooks taught and made children practice all of the reading skills from finding the main idea to determining a sequence of events , predicting an outcome or drawing a conclusion. They taught reading of fiction as well as reading of informational text. Students had to alphabetize and read graphs and charts to ascertain information. This was real skill building. But it all went away one day without any input from the teachers. They were just told that there wouldn't be any more workbooks. Well, that made teaching easier, so much less to correct, but what did it do to reading instruction? Is reading a book silently and then writing a paragraph about it building real reading skill the way workbooks did? I don't think so. It does contribute to the rampant grade inflation that's going on- just write something and your teacher will pass you with a good grade. You don't actually have to know anything. So the question remains, ARE THE PROGRESSIVES THAT DICTATE OUR LIVES REALLY ALL THAT SMART?
So the PROGRESSIVES are now going to fix the schools that they have ruined, with their new program called Common Core. In usual fashion the people that wrote this curriculum were not child development experts and had no idea what they were doing but had a great idea of the agenda they
wanted to push into the schools. They did no trials and have no research to back up any of their grand claims, but they practice public relations and propaganda messages superbly.
In Kindergarten they will have little five year olds, that are just learning to be independent and explore their world, sit in groups and "Speak audibly and clearly and present their thoughts, ideas and feelings clearly." They will also" Build on others thoughts and listen to others with care". They will present a piece of written work and listen intently to their peers "constructive criticism" and then incorporate these ideas into their work. Does this sound like a five year old to you? It sounds like they will be taking our little children and putting their lights under a huge burden of self doubt and stress to me. Child psychologists point out that these skills are completely age inappropriate. Once again we must tell our brethren on the left that children ARE NOT LITTLE ADULTS!! Children are children and they need to work individually and be proud of who they are from what they accomplish themselves.

"NOTHING HAS CHANGED"
"NOTHING HAS CHANGED" is the new mantra of the quisling teachers speaking about the new Common Core National Curriculum from the Federal Government. The last time I heard "NOTHING HAS CHANGED" was when the Nazis were marching into Austria "NOTHING IN AUSTRIA HAS CHANGED"- yeah right- the Austrian government was gone and the Germans had taken over the country but the mantra was "NOTHING IN AUSTRIA HAS CHANGED". They had quislings in Austria too, people who were happy to give up their whole country just to go along with the people who they saw as the winners so they could be winners too. These people have no convictions, integrity, backbone or loyalties, that is why they are called quislings. You get accolades and good jobs and pay raises and an easy road when you just go along. You don't have to face conflict. Just put on the blinders and your life is easy.
At the recent school board meeting in Townsend , Montana, the quislings were out in force saying"NOTHING HAS CHANGED"," They don't even notice Common Core." REALLY? Why are we spending BILLIONS of dollars nationwide if NOTHING HAS CHANGED? Obama is trying to force you to pay 40 cents a month more for your cell phone. He wants the Public Service Commission to add this fee to your phone bill to pay for "technology in the schools". This is Common Core folks- the public schools don't have the infrastructure and computers to put the kids through all the computerized Common Core testing- he has to get the money somewhere. Just imagine- all this money for NOTHING according to these teachers.
You know, not all the teachers are quislings. Teachers are standing up against Common Core across this country. Twelve hundred teachers have organized in Florida to fight. Nine hundred teachers in New York got on line to blast the Common Core testing when it imploded and destroyed their children, making them cry and many other things from great stress. Most teachers do want the best education for their children and they are not in favor of Common Core. Most teachers are afraid to speak out. Since the Federal Government took over the schools in the early nineties even the "Teacher of The Year" has been politicized. Only teachers who would go along with ANYTHING- otherwise known as QUISLINGS- could become teacher of the year. The union manages the nominations and the votes- if you are a trouble maker you won't be one of the chosen. The school districts drag out these quislings every time there's a kick about what they are doing- they count on their QUISLINGS.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FAILURE
Hillary Clinton isn't just a failure in the arena of foreign affairs, having recently been our Secretary of State and over seen the growth of the Iranian nuclear program while dancing her way through Africa, she isn't just a failure in the arena of health care where as the "co-president" she oversaw the illegal behind closed door meetings to develop national healthcare that thankfully failed by one vote, she is also responsible for her education program "Goals 2000" which has destroyed our schools.
Our friends on the left seem to have this huge disease of amnesia, they destroy things and then forget all about it!! They destroy things and then they have the solution to fix it!! Their solution always comes from the Federal Government. This sleepy little southern town built on a swamp (Washington D.C.) now dictates your entire life. It controls your city, your county, your schools, your sidewalks, how you sit in your car, when you can smoke, what kind of car you can drive, how much you pay for cable TV, the internet and your phone, how much water comes out of your shower head, the cost of gas and so much more. They now control your health care and are giving your children "student identifiers" in public schools so they can track them. This is the same thing as the number the soviets made the children sew onto their school sweaters, only Washington D.C. isn't forcing our children to wear their number- YET.
Common Core is having states set up data bases to collect student data and school districts are passing policies, as the Helena School district has, to allow student records to be available to researchers-actual wording- THE DISTRICT MAY GRANT ACCESS TO OR RELEASE OF INFORMATION FROM STUDENT RECORDS WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT OR NOTIFICATION TO ANY PERSON, FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESEARCH, STATISTICAL REPORTING, OR PLANNING, PROVIDED THAT NO STUDENT OR PARENT CAN BE IDENTIFIED FROM THE INFORMATION RELEASED... . This information has the child's birth date and medical information as well as academic and behavioral information- plus the student identifier. With the student identifier people will know where you move if you put your child in public school. Women fleeing abusive husbands should beware- the school and the State Office of Public Instruction will know where you were in school before and where you went.
Our government is controlling and managing you because, as the communists always promise, they are creating the great panacea where there will be no unemployment or hunger or mental illness or abuse etc.- the perfect world. So far they have bankrupted our government and our culture. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FAILURES are ignored- they appear not to even remember that THE FEDERAL PROGRAM GOALS 2000 HAS DESTROYED OUR SCHOOLS.
Rush Limbaugh points out that the liberal left doesn't care if these programs like Obama Care fail- they've got what they want- MORE CONTROL.Only the American people can send these communists packing and make Washington D.C. back into the sleepy little town that no one pays much attention to. Only the American people can take back their city, county and school districts. Only the American people can move the Federal Government out of our houses and cars and showers and away from our families. STOP THE AMNESIA!! SHORT SIGHTED
If someone came up to you with a product that was completely untested and claimed that it would prepare your children for the 21st century and that they would be college and career ready if they used it ,would you buy it without asking any questions? Would you be willing to throw out all your tried and tested products and replace them with the new product even if you knew you had to sign a contract promising not to make any changes to the new product no matter what? I'll bet you would have some questions and would be leery of making whole sale replacements with things you had no power to change. Well, guess what? Mike Huckabee thinks you're SHORT SIGHTED!! Yes, it's not the Common Core hucksters and frauds that are shortsighted, it is you. I like Mike and agree with him on many things, but come on Mike, think a little. What do you really know about education or the program at issue here? Maybe you should get some information before you call those people trying to save America "SHORT SIGHTED".
Isn't it just alarming that the left can come up with just any sort of nonsense and get credit for being progressive? How many fads have your seen come and go in your life time? The very people that are burning our forests down and trying to stop the fracking that will give us energy independence get credit for being "progressive". What are the rest of us that want tried and tested good education for our students that we have control over? Are we all SHORT SIGHTED?
Just maybe, people that make stupid comments and don't know the facts are the people who are SHORT SIGHTED. I taught for thirty years and I tried all the project learning. It doesn't work. Kids spend a lot of time on a limited amount of information and there is no real way to know who learned anything from the experience. This country was built on direct instruction- including the astronauts who sent us to the moon and brought home Apollo Thirteen. Higher level thinking skills always sounds good - but any fool knows you need to have some information first- and young students need an ocean of foundational information before they can even begin to read and write effectively. Wake up Mike- I think you are being dangerously SHORT SIGHTED here.
The "progressives" have brought us fiscal disaster and cultural implode, how in the world can you expect that what they're now making billions of dollars on, without any trials or tests to prove it works, will improve our schools? Let's start looking at what will really help our students learn the best and the things that will really make this country great. We know direct instruction works. We know we need better teacher training- like making teachers experts at their grade level. We know free market capitalism works and preparing students to be responsible hard workers will give them the opportunities that free markets and freedom itself offers. We know states can do their own education as they always have. We know we're doing better than Russia, France, Singapore- pick a country- we hardly need to look to these countries to tell us how to educate our children.
Save America and save our schools by giving the progressive traitors the boot. We will not do better in our schools until we really want hard working individuals to strengthen our free market capitalist system. When we really want our children to find success in our free markets we will prepare them for that.

PRAISE FOR FAILURE
When I was young and innocent- not so many years ago it seems- I thought if you failed at something you would lose your job or people would shun your program or you would be required to do a redo or SOMETHING. It certainly never occurred to me that failure would bring PRAISE upon you, or that you would PRAISE YOURSELF AND PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK, or that you would get to double down on what you were doing even while admitting you were a failure !
Back in the days of my innocence and naivete, when the federal government grabbed control of the schools under the guise of "school reform" and called their program "Goals 2000", I was very distraught, but I thought, well, this can't succeed, and twenty years from now I will be proved right and all of this will go away because it will FAIL. Wrong again my dear. I sat, almost gaping in astonishment, through an education interim committee on Common Core as the SAME EXACT PEOPLE who had advocated for Goals 2000, praised themselves over and over in their testimony (27 years in the field of education, teacher of the year- yada yada yada- you get the idea), advocated for Common Core BECAUSE OUR STUDENTS ARE AT A SIXTY PERCENT REMEDIATION RATE WHEN THEY REACH COLLEGE!! That's right, because of their failed programs our Montana schools are now sending students to college who NEED TO BE REMEDIATED at a SIXTY PERCENT RATE!!
Do these people get chastised for bringing our Montana schools to this disastrous state? Why no, they are praised as experts and given the floor to advocate for another top down program with the same goals!!
I knew dancing through math (this is a real program-not made up) and gardening and whiling away our days with artists in residency would bring us to this disastrous state, BUT I NEVER DREAMED THEY WOULD JUST KEEP ON DOING IT!! The only thing that has saved our schools even a little bit is the dreaded NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT. At least the schools have to do SOME actual teaching and be accountable on tests. BUT WAIT A MINUTE- THE NEW COMMON CORE TESTS WILL LET KIDS WORK IN GROUPS TO PASS TESTS, AND HAVE FORTY PERCENT OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS. Good bye to accountability, and much more tragically, David Coleman ( the Common Core "architect") has gotten himself appointed president of the SAT board with the express purpose of changing college entrance exams to the Common Core way of doing things.
I don't know what the end of this tragedy will be. Kids are sucking on water bottles in class and eating snacks all day, twenty-five percent of them are not graduating, schools are being turned into mental health centers, day care centers and restaurants, as mentioned above colleges are having to remediate the kids that do graduate. How can the federal government expect success when they are doing the same things that continue to cause failure? I knew when they moved the home for unwed mothers next to the high school so all the pregnant girls could go to high school that we were on a real down hill slide- but how can these people PRAISE THEMSELVES AND KEEP RIGHT ON GOING DOWN THE SAME PATH? When will the American public stand up and take back our schools? REMEMBER THE TENTH AMENDMENT TO OUR CONSTITUTION? SCHOOLS ARE A STATES RIGHT!!!

I knew when they moved the home for unwed mothers next to the high school so all the pregnant girls could go to high school that we were on a real down hill slide- but how can these people PRAISE THEMSELVES AND KEEP RIGHT ON GOING DOWN THE SAME PATH? When will the American public stand up and take back our schools? REMEMBER THE TENTH AMENDMENT TO OUR CONSTITUTION? SCHOOLS ARE A STATES RIGHT!!!

EDUCATION ROBOTS
I read a lot of material on Common Core and inevitably the writer will feel compelled to report the comments of some education experts such as the state superintendent of public instruction or the school superintendent of public instruction.THEY ALWAYS SAY THE SAME THINGS!! When you go to the doctor or to a lawyer or a contractor or an accountant or any other number of experts you expect expert advice. You go to these people because they are EXPERTS and should know more about the subject than you do. If you get legal advice or medical advice the expert giving you this advice will explain exactly what the problem is and if there is a solution. Do you think these education experts have even read the volumes of Common Core Standards? I highly doubt that most of them have read any of it.Why do they always come out for it and why are they all saying the same things?
It's very sad to say but I would venture to guess that if the Federal Government came up with a new ethos that all children will get the best education by rolling around on the floor, and put out propaganda statements for superintendents to use to back this up- the superintendents would use these statements stridently and vociferously in the press and at every opportunity. They are ROBOTS who do what they are told to do. Let's look at a few of their statements and see if these EDUCATION ROBOTS have any idea what they are talking about.

So they would come up with this statement "Common Core is teaching higher level thinking skills". If you probed much further ( which you inevitably would be stopped from doing) and asked what the higher level thinking skills were and how they are being taught and how young children with NO INFORMATION could do higher level thinking in any case, they would not have an answer. We might expect our "free press" to ask these questions- to hold the education officials accountable- but one would die of lack of oxygen holding your breath waiting for that to happen. One young teacher thought taking children to a holocaust museum after they read a book about bullying was teaching higher level thinking skills! WHAT? I'm sure the holocaust museum must be very prescient but it is there with a point of view- they aren't there to have children question whether abusing others is a good idea- they are there to teach the consequences. They are there to teach one point of view only. Guiding children morally is a good idea, I advocate for it on this blog, but it is not higher level thinking skills, it is adult GUIDANCE.The EDUCATION ROBOTS that are advocating for Common Core don't even know the definition of what they are supposedly talking about.
In Montana ,where I live, we have a state superintendent who is Native American. She thinks putting Indian Education in every subject proves that Montana is independent!! So we teach math and reading with the materials Common Core tells us to use and we teach in the project learning style and open ended questions and tests and all the other dictates from Common Core, but we are independent because we throw in a little Indian Education? Seriously??

THE PROPAGANDA CULTURE
The world is full of communication these days- webs, blogs, 24 hour news, media,media, media. The question is, has our society advanced enough to think for themselves? One mother was questioned the other day about teaching sex education to Kindergartners and she gave the response she was PROPAGANDIZED to give " Well, in the world today children need protection". Does she really believe that teachers or school nurses teaching her five year old about the proper names "penis" and "vagina" are going to protect him/her from an over sexualized culture? Does she think sexualizing her child too young will make him/her LESS susceptible to a society that has lost control of its moral boundaries? Why would she think that? If you tried to get her to explain this she wouldn't be able to- she would probably get mad and go to the old "you're a right wing extremist" tact of one kind or another.
The truth about this "global" sex education that is in Common Core (Health Enhancement), is that it was written by SEICUS ( Sex Information Council of the United States) that was founded by Alfred Kinsey the renowned sex pervert that thought pedophilia and rape weren't so bad. He had sex tapes of little children being sexually abused that he used as his "research". Does this mother know this? I doubt it. She knows what the PROPAGANDA media is spewing out and that is all. Maybe she should start to think about what she is saying instead of accepting the media PROPAGANDA.
Every new program that the left comes out with is vetted by Public Relations experts so that the right slogans and words are used to ADVERTISE and PROPAGANDIZE.Common Core has not been tested or vetted or researched to find out if it will be effective- but you can bet the PROPAGANDA ARTISTS were brought in right away to MAKE THE SELL.Certain people on the left just look for the PROPAGANDA and spew it out.These are the same people who know what you should eat and how you should live and raise your children- they're sure there is global warming though they haven't seen the results of that for 20 years and the latest reports are that the Glaciers are INCREASING in size.They feel secure and smart in their world where they just listen and go along.Unfortunately these people CAN VOTE!!
Common Core immediately came out with the slogans about the 21st century, rigor, and "college and career" ready. They didn't mention vocational skills but used "college" because it polled so much better- they found every parent wants to think their child will go to college.The PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERTS ARE USING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC AS SUCKERS!! Yes, students are coming to college unprepared, but what would make anyone think that Common Core is what is needed?!! In seat time LEARNING instead of all the experiments would be a good start in really teaching and getting results.Why would anyone think knowing WHY math works is more important than being able to do it- especially when you're eight years old?
The left is out of ideas and keeps repackaging the old ones that have never worked with new PROPAGANDA messages.Alfred Kinsey's influence has been around since the 50's- the same old open sexuality stuff that has RUINED THIS SOCIETY AND LED TO DEPRESSION IN OUR YOUTH AND CHILDREN BEING RAISED IN SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLDS.The Montessori open classroom junk- teach a little of this and a little of that because it's more creative and the kids like it- has been around since the 60's and gives our colleges the illiterate students they have today. Group project learning a.k.a. cooperative learning has been around pathetically without success for the same number of years.This is Common Core folks- replete with the higher level thinking skills and critical thinking- not new at all.They haven't reached their goal of critical thinking for five year olds in fifty years- do they think five or eight year olds are suddenly more cognitively prescient? Give the kids a pretest and then send them to fish or garden or play with computers or community service or cook or art or whatever- that's the new norm that is producing illiterate students.
And by the way, as in every communist agenda, EVERYONE WILL BE THE SAME!!SERIOUSLY? What about English as a second language kids or Special Education students? If America is to regain its' footing the people will have to become media savvy in a big way- they will have to recognize all the hype and PROPAGANDA for what it is and just require real answers to real questions.And by the way- flu shots don't really work either- drug companies are making lots of money but studies have shown that for older people only SEVEN PERCENT were actually helped by a flu shot.The advertisements go on incessantly none the less. Cut the hype America and get back to your principles.YES, America Is exceptional in every way. We are exceptional because our system of government from our CONSTITUTION and our FREE MARKET ECONOMY actually DO work. VISIONS
I gave a speech about Common Core at our Republican central committee the other night and though I was well received by the majority there- the president kept popping up at my side as if I needed to wrap it up and there was one member who challenged me that "they need to hear the other side"- that what I told them was "my opinion". This lady had been on the Gates Foundation "Excellence in Education" sight that was organized to propagandize for Common Core. I told her exactly what the other side would say "21st century thinking skills and college and career ready ad nauseam" - with absolutely no research or proof to back up any of their outlandish claims. So be it- but why in the world would REPUBLICANS try to help the radical left in their power struggle to diminish and change America into their socialist world government control? Why would they work for UNESCO ( United Nations Education and Security Council that is behind the global education that Bill Gates signed on to)?
Randi Weingartner president of the national teachers union has asked Arnie Duncan our vaunted Federal Education Secretary to give her dispensation from having teachers evaluated on the Common Core Tests. My, My, I thought Common Core was a states initiative, how could it be that the head of the NATIONAL DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION must give Randi a dispensation? These people are lying like crazy and playing the right for fools- and they get some people on the right to go along with it!! I told this particular virulent woman ( from the central committee) at one point, that there were some of us who would not like to have our schools dictated to from a central authority- this shut her up for a moment.This whole Common Core thing is dangerous and preposterous (could be the END OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AS RANDI WEINGARTNER STATED) but some of our own allies on the right in this struggle for the hearts and minds of our children- will go along with the ridiculous propaganda.
How do you win a war when your own soldiers don't get it? Common Core teaches consensus rather than the individual- children are taught to go along with group decisions rather than their own.I would like to point out to the UNESCO people(most of whom are not Americans anyway) that group think brings about totalitarianism-not peace. Russia has had group think for centuries and look where it has gotten THEM.Great individuals bring about great countries like the United States.Under Common Core our children are taught to dispassionately tear apart their country and its' heroes and documents like THE CONSTITUTION.They are not taught in depth history and are taught to "critical" think and give "their opinions" way before they have any capacity to do these things. Clearly this is propaganda.Clearly this is an attempt to tear down loyalties to family and country- do the UNESCO people want this loyalty channeled somewhere else- who will fill the void? Who will direct the group think? Maybe the elitist UNESCO members will decide what the charges they are educating will think.
If this country is to be saved the right has to KNOW where all this (Common Core) is coming from and where it is headed. They need to confront the creators head on and STOP THEM DEAD IN THEIR TRACKS.This can and will be done- for one thing the program (like Obama Care) will not work. The left has grabbed their two golden rings- national health care and national curriculum- but they have no scaffolding in place- America, even the liberals, don't really believe in socialism- just try to get their private property or ask them how they feel about higher taxes!! The left is out of ideas, out of time , and OUT OF MONEY. WHO WANTS SUCCESS IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS??
A Helena school board trustee recently said at a school board meeting that " Those anti-public school people are starting to show up at education interim committees testifying against Common Core".REALLY? Is he sure that HE is for public schools but THOSE THAT DISAGREE WITH TOTAL ABANDONMENT OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND WORLD SOCIALIST GOALS are not? This fellow is a member and big champion of the Montana School Boards Association (MSBA). The MSBA feeds off of the public schools- they live on taxpayer money that is given to school boards to run our schools. That's right- our tax dollars are going to this lobbying organization in the form of dues from the school boards.
Is the MSBA in favor of public schools because they want the best education for our children, OR are they for our public schools because they want the money? What do you think? In thirty years of teaching I never saw an MSBA bureaucrat in my class or my school working with children. I have seen them at the legislature indefatigably arguing for whatever new program is being promoted by the Federal Government and the Office of Public Instruction.They do not research these programs and make independent decisions that they feel will be best for the CHILDREN- they defend the programs for the power cartel so that they will continue to get their PAYOLA. SO,WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THE CHILDREN AND OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS- THOSE WHO RECEIVE NO DOLLARS AT ALL, BUT IN FACT GET SCORNED AND DEMONIZED FOR GOING AGAINST THE POWER CARTEL- OR THOSE WHOSE VERY EXISTENCE DEPENDS ON THE MONEY THEY CAN GET FROM THE CARTEL? You be the judge.

The MSBA can ALWAYS be counted on to support the teachers union. Let's see who is taking money from the public schools.
Remember, unions get a cut of EVERY school district salary. When I started teaching in 1975 our school district had three administrators (not including principals) and teachers were paid about $11,000.00 a year to start. When I left teaching in 2005 we had two buildings of administrators including data collectors and many other positions to manage all the Federal programs. Starting teacher salaries were around $30,000.00 and top salaries about $52,000.00. Today top teacher salaries are at about $75,000.00.The Helena school district spends 91% of its budget on salaries- leaving very little money for anything for children- in fact- students have to pay for activities. The schools have to have a foundation that shakes down every business in town to get money to buy the things the district should be buying out of its general fund. As mentioned on this blog before- our schools are in terrible shape- there isn't even money to maintain the buildings! Tell me, DO THE UNIONS AND THE MSBA FIGHT FOR OUR CHILDREN OR FOR THE MONEY THAT PAYS THEIR SALARIES?
Those valiant individuals that actually do the research and actually get NO MONEY but just WANT GOOD EDUCATION should not be labeled as against public schools, ACTUALLY- these are the people who want the programs that will bring real success to our schools. They want students in there seats learning instead of gardening, they want literature to be taught in English classes instead of gotten rid of as Common Core will do, they want real research - not wild and vague promises of "21st century college and career ready". They want competition that will allow the parents to choose the education that works best. They know, that as in the free market, the best product will get the buyers. Special Education students and behavior problems etc. can have their own vouchers and charter schools- so that's not an excuse not to offer CHOICE. Where there is a market there will be a product.THE REAL ADVOCATES FOR OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE NOT THOSE CARTEL MEMBERS BEGGING FOR MONEY, THEY ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND ENERGY TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTS OF PARENTS AND CHILDREN.

Tell me, DO THE UNIONS AND THE MSBA FIGHT FOR OUR CHILDREN OR FOR THE MONEY THAT PAYS THEIR SALARIES?
Those valiant individuals that actually do the research and actually get NO MONEY but just WANT GOOD EDUCATION should not be labeled as against public schools, ACTUALLY- these are the people who want the programs that will bring real success to our schools. They want students in there seats learning instead of gardening, they want literature to be taught in English classes instead of gotten rid of as Common Core will do, they want real research - not wild and vague promises of "21st century college and career ready". They want competition that will allow the parents to choose the education that works best. They know, that as in the free market, the best product will get the buyers. Special Education students and behavior problems etc. can have their own vouchers and charter schools- so that's not an excuse not to offer CHOICE. Where there is a market there will be a product.THE REAL ADVOCATES FOR OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE NOT THOSE CARTEL MEMBERS BEGGING FOR MONEY, THEY ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND ENERGY TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTS OF PARENTS AND CHILDREN.

CRITICAL THINKING
I read Google Alerts everyday on Common Core. I even read articles that people send me. One excellent article from the Missouri Education Watchdog, written by a teacher, knocked me right off my chair. The teacher said, " If teachers are supposed to teach critical thinking, I guess they should be able to THINK CRITICALLY."YES!! YES!! YES!! But are they thinking CRITICALLY about Common Core? Not much. Why not? Essentially CRITICAL THINKING is not paying their paycheck- going along pays the big dividends.
But let's talk about CRITICAL THINKING just for a moment. I was at a town hall in Big Sandy on Common Core. The Office of Public Instruction had sent their stooges. These young teachers were absolutely convinced that they had written Montana's Common Core Standards!! They were absolutely convinced that this was a states initiative.Well ladies, let's bring in some of the CRITICAL THINKING you write so much about - a VERY SIMPLE QUESTION- if, as you say,every school in America (and even the WORLD) will be teaching the same things at the same time so that military families that move won't have any adjustments to make - how could you have written it? Come on ladies- admit it- you aligned Montana Standards to what you were told to do- you put Montana in the Common Core box- you created nothing. And Yet, these young teachers were totally convinced that they had written individual standards for Montana- you have to wonder how people can be so utterly blind- and at the same time they are speaking loftily of all this CRITICAL THINKING they will be teaching!!!
Let's look at the societal breakdown. Schools are having unbelievable problems with behavior these days. Let's do some CRITICAL THINKING about what could actually be causing this. If you teach children to "QUESTION AUTHORITY" do you think they will RESPECT AUTHORITY? Seriously now,don't you think, teaching very young children with the cognitive abilities of a young child,to think that they are the same as adults, might cause some frustration, confusion, and disarray? Don't you think giving these children GUIDANCE so that they respect authority and learn some morality might be a better way to go? I'm just saying.
The lack of CRITICAL THINKING among the liberal left that wants us all to be critical thinkers, IS STAGGERING!! I was treated to the report from the rapacious school lunch program director at the last school board meeting. He's tracking which kids eat lunch and breakfast at school and then calling parents of kids who qualify for free and reduced lunch if their kids don't buy meals at school!! He's not going to miss any dollars. He grabs kids in the high school parking lot and tries to force them to buy breakfast!! Imagine- soliciting in the school parking lot!!THEN THERE'S THE SUMMER PROGRAM. As reported by the director- kids who eat at school come up to him and wonder how they will eat in the summer!! Talk to any person on the liberal left- they are totally convinced these poor kids are HUNGRY!!-- EVEN STARVING!!Well, he started his program this year with 360 kids- they had games and gave out free books to attract participants. Let's start the CRITICAL THINKING- if you were STARVING, if you had NO FOOD, would you need free books and games to attract you to food give aways?I'm guessing not. But, let's go on. Did the food director's numbers stay at 360- sadly for his business, absolutely not. In August he's having trouble just getting ONE HUNDRED and sixty. His reason for this? THE KIDS ARE ON VACATION!!! Come on now - let's CRITICALLY THINK- if the kids families can afford to go on vacation do you think they can afford a sandwich?? Think real hard- hmmm.And my all time favorite- liberals will say if put in a corner- that well, maybe families do have food- BUT THEY JUST WON'T FEED THEIR CHILDREN!! CRITICAL THINKING AGAIN- think real hard- just a question- HOW DID THEY MAKE IT TO FIVE YEARS OF AGE WITHOUT BEING FED?!!Seriously- do you trust that these individuals know how to critical think and that they will teach it to YOUR CHILDREN?

THE "EXPERT" STATE AND CULTURAL IMPLOSION
For a long time now, across America, and the world, progressives have tried to remake society. They have condemned the state of the culture, calling for relativism in its place. These progressives have been known to have relative values "If it feels good do it!". As they have sought to tear down the culture that said you should go to church,or dress modestly and appropriately for occasions,or save sex for marriage, they have tried to "fix" society- to erase all poverty and struggle.That's where the EXPERTS come in. If you are going to "fix" society you have to have EXPERTS who know what perfect is.These experts give us political correctness- they know what we can say and what we can not. They know what we should eat and how we should raise our children. They come into our homes on home visits. They make laws governing our relations with people,how we use our land, how we run our businesses, how much water can come out of our shower head or go down our toilet, what kind of light bulbs we have to use, and how we and our children MUST sit in our cars. How do you think the "EXPERTS" are doing so far in creating the perfect society? I personally think the society is experiencing a CULTURAL IMPLOSION.
Our forefathers believed in the individual, they believed in human nature, they believed people had free will and could make their own choices, they believed people should have the OPPORTUNITY to pursue their happiness.Government was there to provide a civil society and keep people and property safe by basically enforcing the Ten Commandments "thou shalt not steal", "thou shalt not kill" and so on. The federal government in the constitution has the right of "coinage"- making money, and the COMMON defense- not your personal defense but the defense of the country and its borders. I always shake my head in wonder when progressives say " If you don't like our idea what is yours?". CONSERVATIVE IDEAS ARE THE IDEAS THAT WORKED!! THE IDEAS THAT GAVE US GOOD HEALTHCARE, GOOD SCHOOLS, A CIVIL SOCIETY, A PROSPEROUS ECONOMY, LOW UNWED BIRTHS AND DIVORCE, AND DID NOT BURN DOWN OUR FORESTS EVERY AUGUST- WE COULD BREATHE OUTSIDE!! This blog is about the schools- so let's just explore for a minute what the "EXPERTS" have done to our schools.
I usually watch a bit of news in the morning when I wake up- not such a peaceful way to start the day- but I do it. This morning I was treated to the video of the most brutal attack (outside of the movies) that I have ever seen on a child. Three African American males were kicking and punching a 13 year old white boy on a school bus (no racial motivation noted- hmmm). Apparently the 13 year old had outed them for selling marijuana at school - so this was his punishment- fortunately the boy did live. What makes kids sell marijuana in school? What makes kids so angry and vicious? How do teachers teach these angry and law averse students?
Let's start with question #1- Where do the students get the marijuana and why are they encouraged to sell it? Progressives love control- but not control of marijuana or our nations borders. The marijuana comes in from Mexico across our open southern borders for the most part. Why shouldn't kids want to sell it when they are told it should be LEGAL?!!Another point of wonder from the "EXPERTS"- smoking is bad ALL THE TIME AND EVERYWHERE- but Marijuana should be legal!!Question #2 What makes kids so angry and vicious? You can thank Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton for some of this- they don't teach peace and love as Martin Luther King did- they teach anger. You can thank the liberal left relativist moral society as well. These "EXPERTS" don't like modesty- they like open sexuality and even sexualizing young children in school with sex education programs. Naturally unwed births have sky rocketed and these boys that did the beating- more than likely- don't have their mother and father in their home. This makes kids real mad. Add to that no church, no patriotism and very little morals- voila! unhappy angry kids with an entitlement attitude. Question #3- How do teachers teach these angry and law averse students? They don't. Everything's not O.K. and these types of students need to be taught away from students who are there to learn.They need to be taught in a structured setting with real rules and morals- they need to start the road to success by learning they really can achieve on their own, they are not a victim and they really are responsible for their actions. Something to believe in like their country and their heritage might help too.
Our Helena School District thinks "EXPERTS" ( Social workers from a federal grant) can fix families. They are taking away accredited counselors that are needed to determine learning difficulties and replacing them with social workers who will do home visits and "talk" to the families.These families that are in trouble will not be "fixed" by a social worker and I am quite confident that none of them have, though without proof, our superintendent is claiming they have saved all the students on the outer edges (sometimes the lying makes me breathless).
When we finally admit that "EXPERTS" from the government are not going to save us and get back to believing in ourselves and the principles of our founding we will find our way to success once again. Putting children in groups to discuss their opinions on global warming is not going to get us there. The Common Core "EXPERTS" need to go away and local schools need to go back to direct instruction and expectations from students in every category. We know this will succeed because it always has- who do you think built this wonderful country and the healthcare and technology that you enjoy today? We know the recipe for success and we know the recipe for disaster- think Detroit and America's faltering society and seventeen trillion dollar debt. If you are a liberal I hope you will finally admit the failings of your "EXPERTS" and begin to understand the success of the past.Please help us stop our countries CULTURAL IMPLOSION.

ECHOES OF THE PAST
One public speaker protesting the new national curriculum, "Common Core", pointed out that " The loudest lessons of the day are echoes of the past".
Common Core strives to greatly diminish the teaching of the ECHOES OF THE PAST by eliminating a great deal of the traditional literature that is taught in English classes and replacing it with "Informational Text". Suggested readings of informational text are things like articles on global warming or the new health care act.
Society weeds out bad literature and hangs on to great literature forever. What ECHOES OF THE PAST are learned in the SCARLET LETTER or MOBY DICK or ROMEO AND JULIET or TOM SAWYER or DAVID COPPERFIELD to name a few? Humanity, good and bad, is exposed in these books. Children learn about mistakes of the past and triumphs. I believe there are people on the liberal left that know that a culture that does not learn its history will cease to exist and this is exactly what they hope to achieve here. What progressive WHIM do they propose to replace our WESTERN HERITAGE with? The progressive movement, based purely on ideology and no real research or proof of any kind, is proposing to destroy our country and our culture even further. They will turn all of us into Detroit if they are not stopped.
The good news is that the left and the right are coming together now on so many issues. Stopping the NSA from wire tapping is one of the issues, stopping the Justice Department from intimidating reporters and their sources is another.Another issue that both the left and the right can agree on is preserving literature in English classes. I go to many Helena School District board meetings and other related meetings. I was at one the other night that really surprised me. Many liberals that I might disagree with on other issues, stood up for history.
We had a meeting about our Central School, the oldest school in Helena. The school board wants to tear this building down. Liberals from the Historical Society to the Historical Preservation Society to just parents spoke eloquently about why history is important.One mother particularly impressed me when she talked about her own experiences in school. She said she went to a new elementary school and middle school. These schools did not impress her- just the teachers. She went to an historical high school and this really did impress her. This school had HISTORY. She was proud to go to that school and to carry on its traditions and heritage. That's what it's about, THE ECHOES OF THE PAST, that's what conservatives have been trying to say-save our traditions, our heritage and our history. Teach the ECHOES OF THE PAST to future generations.
Liberals often think that teaching children to love their country by teaching its history is teaching war. I completely disagree. Teaching children to love their country and about the brave and wonderful people of the past is teaching them pride and respect. The ECHOES OF THE PAST give the children the pride and the courage to believe in themselves and go forward with integrity- knowing that they represent something bigger than themselves.
I went to my hairdresser the other day. This woman has very cogent understandings. I've gone to her for twenty five years- and though she never spent a day in college, she has shown herself to me to be very wise. Perhaps it's not just her common sense- it's all the people that share their lives and experiences with her everyday. I had her son in third grade and the other day when I said to her that the most important things I taught my students were self respect and the work ethic she looked at me and said quietly "You taught them one other thing". I asked "Oh, what was that?" and she told me what I knew- "You taught them to love their country". Yes, I did. Honor, courage and determination come from knowing who you are- from your family and your heritage.
Many people deride that the English hang on to their monarchy, their Royal heritage. The new Prince George was born the other day and people turned out in the street in mobs. The Monarchy, I believe, makes Britain special. It makes it special because it has history and heritage in its monarchy.Dignity, respect, honor, knowing the right way to behave come from your history. Young people who have no sense of history have lost those reasons to act with pride and perseverance.
People who vote with no sense of history may vote only for their self interest. People who know their history and have pride in it may vote for the good of their country. Bless and preserve those ECHOES FROM THE PAST - do not let them be replaced with progressive WHIMS that will fail and destroy as they have done in Detroit.

HOW DO YOU RAISE A PUNK?
Attitudes are taught. Our schools talk a lot about teaching respect- but are they teaching respect really? True respect means I respect others- I don't resent them- I do not expect to pick their pocket to pay for me. Respect for myself means I believe I am capable of caring for myself. Most of us grew up poor and we never even knew we were poor. My mother made my lunches with left overs like meat loaf sandwiches. We could never afford snacks- she made home made cookies for us- we didn't ever buy potato chips or Twinkles. Think about the thrift and personal responsibility I learned from that. Today-implicitly in our culture and in our schools- we are teaching children that they have a RIGHT to things they can't afford. What kind of respect is this teaching them?
Resentment ruins people.Resentment does not earn me a living it just makes me angry and destructive of myself and others. People who believe they can do better on their own will do better on their own. In America today- even with all the destruction the liberals have foisted upon our economy- there is still opportunity. But you can not access this opportunity if you are a punk. Punks don't believe they need to get up early and follow direction- they think they have a right to things they did not work for. In our Alternative High Schools in many places- students are allowed to start school at 11:30 in the morning!! What kind of work ethic is this teaching? I'm sure if you questioned the adults in charge of these schools they would tell you that the late start keeps some kids in school and this is better than them dropping out. Really? What are they being prepared to do and who is really gaining here? Perhaps the school is gaining because they continue to get their ANB money and federal grants that they would lose if the student dropped out.
What do Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton get by trumping up racial tension every chance they get? They get support for their non profits and support for the Democrat party that keeps the money flowing to them. But what do the kids get? The kids inherit the attitude that I can bash someones head in if I want to because they deserve it and I am a victim.That's how you raise a punk. You don't teach respect and family honor you teach kids to hate and destroy. Charles Paine is a Black man who was raised poor by his mother- he became a stock broker and is a wealthy man today who works for Fox News. It's all in the attitude- he carried a brief case to school and believed he would be a business man someday- and he is.
As a teacher I love all children- every child is a miracle to me. I retired because I couldn't participate in the destruction of children right before my eyes. The most important thing I ever taught was self respect and the work ethic. Every child I ever had that was a discipline problem or was struggling in school I attempted to turn around by setting goals for them. I would ask them, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"- maybe they did say a major league ball player- but how many of us built a life striving for something we didn't get but we got something else that was pretty good because we worked hard? I love my country and I love the children that will make this country work- I write this blog because I will not sit idly by and watch this country and its children being destroyed.

MEN IN PINK TUTUS ON TELEVISION
There was a time when teachers commanded some moral authority in the community. When I first started teaching in 1975 it was frowned upon for teachers to frequent the bars. I joined the Helena Chorale and our superintendent made a point to tell me that this was a good representation in the community. What kind of moral authority do teachers represent to their students today?
Last night I happened upon the Fox News O'Reilly show, which I almost never watch- but there was a man in a pink tutu at a transgender parade "for fun" on Coney Island in New York. When the reporter asked the man in the pink tutu what he did for a living he told him, appallingly, that he was a teacher!! Not only was this teacher bold enough to wear a pink tutu in a transgender parade, he made sure he was on television for millions to see!! I wonder what message he was trying to send to his students and their parents?I wonder what respect he expected his students to have for him after this display? It got worse when the reporter asked him if he liked his country, he said that he did not. Do our parents and tax payers have a right to expect the teachers they pay to support the government that is paying their salaries? What exactly do the parents of these young children have a right to expect? Is there any rule of conduct at all?
In Helena we try almost every election cycle to get some representation on the school board of a more conservative voice- and we routinely lose.The unions seem to control the vote- and they support the people that will guarantee the status quo in their financial arrangements PERIOD. If you think there is nothing you can do about this deterioration in our schools you are wrong. Who you vote for makes all the difference. The ACLU is only able to bring its reign of terror down on America because we let it. Judges are elected in some cases and appointed in others. The appointed judges have to be approved by the people you vote for- Senators. You can change America by voting for people with common sense that will give our children decent moral representation. I am not saying that things will change over night- this mess has been a long time coming and will take a while to change- but the American people can change it if they want to. IT IS INCUMBENT UPON THE ADULT CITIZENS OF THESE UNITED STATES TO OFFER OUR YOUTH LEADERSHIP. Children deserve to be taught about the greatness of this nation and the morality that will give them the chance to climb the ladder of success and achieve greatness themselves.Our children have the right to grow up free from being sexualized at an early age by the media or their teachers. They have a right to grow up with morals and decency that will help them to live a good life.They have a right to a good education without being taught special interest agendas. I hope every one of you will think of our children and the leadership they deserve when you vote and when you talk to your neighbors. Our children and our country deserve better than what we are doing today.

COMMON CORE TYRANNY
As this country speeds down the highway to tyranny many of our "citizens" see no problem with the tyrannical government that is being formed.These are not citizens of our founding, they are citizens of the "world"- or put another way- citizens of the socialist world government being established by the United Nations. Most of these "citizens" think they are "American Citizens" - they do not even know what they are promoting and voting for.The courts can give citizenship papers to many people- but this does not mean that they are truly believers in this country and what it stands for- they just get the right to vote. This country is in a pitched civil war between the citizens of the founders and those who would destroy all that this country is and was founded to be.
The citizens of tyranny are happy to use tyrannical methods. These "citizens" do not respect freedom of information or representative government. It is so much easier to just use boards, committees and regulations to get what they want instead of having to rely on debate and freedom of information and votes of elected representatives. Let's look at how the Common Core National Curriculum was jammed down the throats of three hundred million Americans.
David Coleman, who may know a lot about how to manipulate a huge corrupt government for his own financial gain, is in fact, not a teacher, and knows nothing about writing curriculum. David got private money from the Gates Foundation (micro soft signed an agreement with UNESCO in 2004 to support global education) and The Charles Johnson Foundation among others, and created Achieve, a private company that wrote Common Core and had it COPYRIGHTED!! No freedom of information, no sunshine laws, were required for Achieve to write this curriculum for the entire nation.No debates, no votes, no speeches on the floor of the Senate or House were required. There was no need for research or data to support their spectacular claims. They claim that Common Core was internationally benchmarked but they have no evidence of any such testing comparisons.They claim that this curriculum will make students "college and career ready" and yet they have no research to back up such claims.They simply did what they wanted and said what they wanted with no responsibility to the law or the public. As Sandra Stotsky, who has a PhD in English Language Arts, points out- there was no clarification of "higher level thinking skills"- she asks "higher than what?" and points out that naturally children would need some amount of cumulative knowledge to think at higher levels in any case.The Common Core writers claim children will be "critical" thinkers- Sandra asks "critical of what?". And in what way will taking information out of the curriculum or replacing literature with informational text in English classes make children more ready for college? There is no research to back up any of these claims.
The Common Core tyrants formed a committee to "analyze" the Common Core curriculum.They chose 135 people for that committee. It is reported that the number of bureaucrats to experts was sixty to one!! They had only one English Language Arts expert, Sandra Stotsky, and she refused to sign off.They had one mathematics expert, James Milgram, and he also refused to sign off on the Common Core curriculum.Both of these experts wrote letters explaining their objections to Common Core and they were not submitted with the Common Core document - they disappeared!! People on the committee report, what those of us in education have lived since the Federal Government took over education in the early nineties, that they were directed, their opinions and expertise were ignored. Is this tyranny? You be the judge.
Our founders, if you read the discussions at the constitutional convention, were afraid of just this kind of thing happening, our country losing the protections in the constitution by authority being given to outside entities. After this rancid document was pushed through, the people with the copyright went to states and got their Offices of Public Instruction to "recommend" that the State Boards of Education mandate Common Core curriculum throughout their states. How did they get them to do this? They were talking from the Federal Government- even offering MONEY and waivers from NO Child Left Behind ( most of the states were in danger of having schools closed because they couldn't pass the No Child Left Behind tests).So, forty-six states mandated Common Core with the vote of nine people, who in most cases, are appointed- not elected. In most cases these State Boards had not even read the document(in many cases the standards weren't even written yet)- not that they would probably even have understood what they were reading- these people are appointed to go with the flow- not to be experts in the field or even to THINK. State Boards have ASSUMED the right to mandate curriculum- they were established to enforce the law- make sure teachers were accredited and schools had accredited curriculums and so on- to regulate- not to MAKE LAW, NOT TO MANDATE CURRICULUMS!!REGULATORY AGENCIES ARE BEING USED TO TYRANNICALLY MAKE LAW!!
This is what TYRANNY is- don't ask questions just do it, no laws no protections- just do what you are told because we told you to and we have the power. Is this what you want your America to be? Our children are our future and they are being indoctrinated in school more and more. What kind of America are they being taught to believe in- to protect and die for- to be loyal to? The people that support these efforts ( the people who actually understand what they are doing) are not citizens of the founding, they are global socialists that would take our constitution away from us and have us live under totalitarian socialism. On this Fourth of July we are fighting for the very existence of our country. Get involved- contact your elected officials- get the word out - vote- fight for your country or you will live under a dictatorship. Constitutions don't mean anything if they aren't enforced. Common Core must be stopped- and every attempt to control the population in these unconstitutional ways must be stopped. AMERICA!!! FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY!!!
