When many of us grew up there were roles and rules. Women had a place in society and so did men. Men were stronger than women and women looked to men to protect them and their children. Women had the children and were expected to nurture them. Families were a mom and a dad and children. Children were taught moral rules by their parents.There were rules about proper dress and language, rules for polite company and what was discussed there, rules about honesty and fairness. There was right and wrong and good and bad and "never the twain shall meet". The hippies didn't like having rules- why couldn't they have sex with whom they chose without the benefit of marriage? Why did they have to have any modesty at all? Why not just have sex in public? Why should they have to work? Why not just get your girlfriend pregnant and then travel around? I remember one young hippie couple who hitch hiked to Mexico with their little baby girl and she got sick and died. Hippies didn't like roles and rules.
I remember going to college during these days. I remember the books we were given like John Kenneth Galbraith's THE AFFLUENT SOCIETY and Charles Reich's THE GREENING OF AMERICA and Ferdinand Lundberg's THE RICH AND THE SUPER RICH. All these books attempted to convince me that I was a victim of the "super rich" and I needed "fairness". I was very young at the time and it's a wonder I left college with any mind at all after reading all this trash. I kept those books for many years, then one day I really realized what trash they were and I threw them all out. Thank goodness I never listened to that message. I took care of myself and my family and never looked at what the rest of society did or thought that somehow the society owed me something. I was taught in school as a child that you take care of yourself. When we had arguments with our friends we used to go around saying "It's a free country isn't it? We knew we were free and we knew we were responsible- roles and rules. My grandmother was a very poor woman who raised nine children through the depression. All nine of those children had careers and families- roles and rules. Without roles and rules our children are lost- ESPECIALLY those children who have to climb the ladder of success alone.
The new "science" of sociology has attempted to change roles and rules- to direct them. Societies and cultures that have survived the test of time for thousands of years are now being challenged by these so called "scientists". They are attempting to use our schools to fill our young children's minds with their supposed "genius". They supposedly know more than Christ and more than parents and more than societies and cultures that have been around for thousands of years.Ted Cruz a senator from Texas spoke at the Hillsdale College Commencement and he said "While other graduates have been exposed to college courses such as 'Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame,' you have been grounded in an understanding of our Constitution and of the freedom it was designed to preserve....In the history of mankind, freedom has been the exception. Governed by kings and queens, human beings were told that power starts at the top and flows down; that their rights emanate from a monarch and may be taken away at the monarch's whim."
Roles and rules come from society- not from monarchs. Our new "Science of Sociology" is trying to become our new monarch and tell us what we must believe. These new monarchs are attempting to change our society by co-opting our children in school. Society will decide for itself what is good and what is bad. Some books are around for thousands of years, such as the AENEID by Virgil that I am reading now- and others quickly reach the trash bin of history.
America, recover your roles and rules, throw out these autocrats who are attempting to control your lives. The new "science of sociology" has caused havoc in your society and will destroy your freedom. Only societies with roles and rules can remain free. You may have your rest or you may have your freedom- you can not have both.People can be great when they are taught to work hard for their self interest and destroyed when they are taught that their self interest is to be a dependent victim. These new "sociologists" are wrong but they are clever- they use psychology to manipulate the message- to make you think they are helping you. Unwed births are skyrocketing and along with it drug use and poverty- our government is in fiscal chaos and filled with corruption and ineptitude- is this helping you? America I beg of you- throw out these wannabe dictators and bring back America to its former glory- ROLES AND RULES.

FACTS VERSUS AGENDAS
The political left does not like facts- in fact they make fun of teaching students facts. When I taught I worked very hard to teach students facts- my students learned where the fifty states were and what the capitals of all those states were. They learned the names of the Great Lakes and where they were located. They learned the location and names of the major river systems and mountain chains. All FACTS that my liberal "mentors" did not think it was necessary to teach. What does the liberal left want taught? They want open ended questions that have more than one right answer. They want to teach children how to "think" according to them. They use the words "higher level" thinking skills and "critical thinking".
What is thinking? I might think like you on some things and differently on others. I base my thoughts on FACTS.You base your thinking on FACTS. We may discuss the FACTS. In the end FACTS are what is important. Why doesn't the liberal left want students to spend time in school learning FACTS?Why do they make fun of those "fill in the bubble" tests where you either know the FACTS or you don't? Why are forty percent of Common Core tests open ended questions?Could it be that these people are not satisfied with students learning FACTS and want to direct how they think? It would appear that way.If you just teach small children that plants are in seeds and with water and nourishment and sunshine they will grow into plants that have chlorophyll you would not have the opportunity to propagandize them to your way of thinking about animal rights or conservation. You would not get to direct thinking- just information.
Recently they held the Pedro Pan 50 year anniversary in Helena. These students were taken out of Communist Indoctrination in Cuba. They came to America so that school could once again become about FACTS and not indoctrination.Today the liberal left is turning OUR AMERICAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS into indoctrination camps. They are training small children how to think- and even to advocate for social causes.In an Essentials reading series in Utah children will be taught to be social advocates by being taught to use emotional words. They will be taught to say "I need" instead of "I want". They will be taught not to state the facts but to manipulate people. To use language to get what they want- not to tell the truth and clearly state the FACTS.
I'm sure the people writing these Common Core curriculums believe they are doing what is right and just. Every dictatorship takes over schools to teach their people what is right. They believe they know what is best and must direct their people. That's not what we believe in America. We are free individuals. Children's values will be taught at home by their parents. No school has the right to decide what all of us should believe.Common Core is not teaching higher level thinking by having six year olds discuss their opinions. Six year olds don't have enough information- FACTS- or the adult reasoning capability to know what their opinions are. These students are being directed- their thoughts are being directed. This is indoctrination. No one in public schools has the right to teach anyone's child anything but facts.
You may believe passionately in your opinions about social justice or climate change or conservation or animal rights- you may believe so passionately that you think these are FACTS. I assure you they are not FACTS and if they were you would not have to go to stretches of "higher level thinking skills" to get to them. As parents, grandparents and citizens we must demand that our schools stick to teaching FACTS.Our children are not going to school to become advocates for anything. They are going to school to learn to read and write and calculate and to learn some basic FACTS about their country and the natural world around them. The first step in saving the free America is to stop the schools from being indoctrination centers. Where will AMERICA'S Pedro Pan students go to learn so that THEY won't have to be indoctrinated? Our children have the RIGHT to LEARN without being indoctrinated. FIGHT FOR OUR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. FIGHT FOR A FREE AMERICA WHERE PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE ABOUT LEARNING FACTS AND ARE NOT INDOCTRINATION CENTERS FOR AGENDAS. THANK YOU.

JUST ONE HONEST AMERICAN
Just one honest American, that's what it will take to save this country. I was watching the hearings on the Internal Revenue Service targeting of Americans and I thought " If just one honest American would stand up and tell the truth- one honest American with integrity that wanted the world to know the truth in spite of what the costs to him/her personally would be-we could get to the truth." Who told these people in Cincinnati to target conservative Americans?Telling the truth may cost them their job. I later learned that there are people who are going to tell the truth.There are people who are willing to tell the truth on Benghazi. Even in darkest Russia or over the Barbed wire fences into North Korea- pamphlets have been dropped to try to get the truth to people- today we have the internet. Knowing the truth may not change things immediately, but it will change things eventually. EVENTUALLY the people who listen to all of Obama's supposedly "wonderful" speeches will have to face the truth within themselves- the man is a liar. They will have to ask themselves"Has my health insurance gone down $2,500.00 a year?", "Has the president been truthful and transparent about Benghazi?", "Has the Obama administration been truthful and transparent with how they were using the Internal Revenue Service or the Justice Department to investigate reporters?", "Is this actually the most transparent and honest administration?", "Has Gitmo been closed?","Has no one with an income under $250,000.00 had their taxes raised?". EVENTUALLY the truth will win out.
Schools have the same problems as the society in general. No one wants to speak out and lose their job. They are all told to "Take one for the team". Be a team player, support your team. If you speak out you are labeled as a severe morale problem, you're not a "team player". One honest American, that's what we need. Who will stand up? Who will speak? Cross Dressing Day is about breaking down gender identity- it is not "dress up" or learning to have empathy.Bully programs were lobbied for by the Human Rights Network and Gay Pride. They are not just programs to make kids be nicer to each other. They are programs that monitor body language, facial expression,and speech.These programs deny an individual's right to associate with whom they choose. Schools have always had programs to monitor behavior and punish violators- the Bully program is something new and it is invasive and intrusive to school life.Common Core is NOT JUST STANDARDS- Common Core is an intrusive and invasive bad curriculum that is taking away what academic freedom was left in the classroom. Who will speak out? Teacher's that will support the program are given a podium- but who will say the truth?
I think of the young man who stood in front of the tank when the Chinese revolted against communism. I will never forget that picture. If America is to save itself we all must be that person- ONE HONEST AMERICAN THAT IS WILLING TO SACRIFICE ALL TO SAVE AMERICA.
Is Edward Snowden ONE HONEST AMERICAN? I think he is. The more the press demonizes him the more I think yes- he told the truth. One NSA expert was decrying what Edward Snowden did and then said "I'm glad we're having this debate".Well, we wouldn't be having this debate if Edward Snowden hadn't spoken out.America must fight back with honesty- each of us has the potential to be that "ONE HONEST AMERICAN". DOWN WITH THE TRAITORS- SAVE THE UNION!!!

GRADUATION AND THE AMERICAN CHARACTER
Sometimes our students make it out of school with good character DESPITE the best attempts of our public schools to teach them they are victims who need government guidance and dependency and that they are not REALLY sure whether they are a boy or a girl ( witness cross dressing day at one school in Wisconsin). These attempts to change values and attitudes at school have finally made it into the mainstream press, witness Charles Krauthammer pointing out that free food at school raises expectations of dependency- expectations that will not be realized when the students graduate- the government can not possibly feed and house and healthcare everyone. In the real world these students who have been taught this "connectedness" and victimhood status will simply fail as human beings and have very unhappy lives eventually, unless they realize the error of their ways and the false expectations they were left with from school. Unless they learn to be a rugged individual that takes PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!
But as I mentioned above- many wonderful children still survive with their AMERICAN CHARACTER intact inspite of the best efforts of socialists in school. I would like to brag about one of these wonderful students who is graduating this year. I had the honor of having her in third grade. This young lady is blessed with real intellectual talents. We have our PEAK program here in Helena that identifies a quota of "Gifted and Talented" every year- but most of these students are not truly geniuses. As a teacher you see VERY FEW really intellectually gifted students- Gabby was the only one I had in my classes in all the years I taught. She read at a ninth grade level in third grade and remembered EVERYTHING I said or taught.So God gave her the gift- but she and her parents made the person.
When her parents asked her what she wanted to do- or where she wanted to go to college- she said she wanted to go to West Point. So- being the parents they were they investigated and researched for her. The family soon received the video that told about how hard West Point was going to be. Well- her parents asked- "Are you sure this is what you really want to do?" And here is what Gabby said, " I don't want to waste my time going to college just to party and have fun. I want to do something to help my country". This is why America WILL survive in spite of all the socialist destruction. Gabby DID get that appointment to West Point. I hear she is good with foreign languages- wow-what a blessing for this country.
Gabby was interviewed by our local paper because she was a valedictorian. They asked her the usual questions- but one in particular really caught my attention. The reporter asked her about her school activities and she said she was a swimmer. Here is what she said " I like swimming because it's an individual sport- but the better I do as an individual the more it helps the team." YES!! That's it!! That's what the socialist destroyers can not and will not recognize - INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT RAISES ALL BOATS!! When Andrew Carnegie came to Pittsburg it was a very poor farming area- scratch gravel living. He built steel plants- he made a lot of money- some of his workers became millionaires- some made six figure salaries- some just made a good living to support their family. Restaurants and stores and barber shops began to appear as people spent their salaries. Pittsburg became a large and thriving city. This scenario happened all across America with other industrialists and today people fight to get to America and to stay here. Andrew Carnegie built libraries and Carnegie Hall in New York. You can find negative in anything - you can deny the truth- but America IS a great and successful nation. America IS a great and successful nation and it was built by the spirit, the ingenuity, and the hard work of INDIVIDUALS.
Students like Gabby will share their INDIVIDUAL GOD GIVEN TALENTS and make America a better place- in spite of socialist attempts to drag them down. Columbus was a brave explorer that discovered a continent to the western world. He was an adventurer with a dream and he didn't give up. He was not a good for nothing racist murderer. Actually - today our native peoples drive in cars with combustion engines and have indoor plumbing and central heat because of the development of the American continent.The industrialists actually WERE NOT just a bunch of greedy polluters, they were people with great talents that made the world better for all of us.America continues to achieve in technology and medicine and many other things. Great individuals with great God given talents continue to make this a great country-OUR JOB IS TO STOP THE NAYSAYERS AT EVERY CORNER- READ SOCIALISTS- AND LET AMERICA THRIVE!!I may not have had so many "Gifted and Talented" but I never had a student that I didn't believe was really SOMEBODY. Every person has God given talents and it's America's job to let freedom ring and let individuals believe in THEMSELVES- IN THEIR ABILITIES- not the all intrusive overbearing government!! Stop the government overreach and let freedom thrive!!

THE M O N S T E R !!
Central planning does not work. Central planning has never worked. Central planning creates a nightmare in mismanagement. Central planning has created THE MONSTER!! in America's cities and schools. Every morning I look out my window at my street. I live on the upper west side of Helena, a very nice address. My street looks like a war zone. The pot holes can't even be patched to much effect anymore. We are on a 22 year turnaround now for street repair. My street is not unlike many others, it is symptomatic of what is happening to local governance.Local governance is servicing CENTRAL PLANNING and losing all sense of care taking for the management of their charge, be it schools or cities.
When you think about it there is so much that goes into planning just for your home and family. What will you have for dinner tonight? Did you go to the store? Did you shop the sales to get good deals and protect your family budget? How about the laundry- do you need clean sheets or have the towels been washed- do you have clean clothes for work and school tomorrow? Does your wardrobe need replacements? Have you weeded out old clothes? How about cleaning and maintaining your house? How about maintaining your yard? How about your vehicles-have they been serviced? Do you need gas?Have you paid your bills and managed your budget? The list goes on. Now think- what if Aunt Mildred moved in with her two kids and cousin Alfred took over the basement.More mouths to feed. More problems to solve. More needs to be met. Would you be able to manage it all? And then the kids bring home a stray dog and two stray cats. Hmmm- could you manage it all? Would you at some point have to say "I can't do all this!!". Probably. This is what is happening to your cities and schools.
In Helena our school district is under great stress- and the public- which was never brought into the decision of adding all these programs- is getting tired of the mess and confusion and cost. The public here just refused to pass the building levy- I think their message is "We can't do all this!!". There was an article in the local paper today that listed some of the programs that are being housed in distressed building arrangements- we now have our public schools responsible for making space for "Head Start", "Literacy Council", "Youth Connections", "Vista", "Safe School/Healthy Student grant","School aged child care" an Alternative High School and Montessori classrooms. Meanwhile we can no longer maintain our buildings out of our general fund, we have hired so much staff and raised salaries so much that we can't even operate our schools properly and we don't have money to operate new buildings. Students will have to be in larger class sizes so that the general fund can continue to service programs.
Meanwhile, we have boilers in our high school that are about to explode they are so old. INSTEAD OF REPLACING BOILERS OUT OF BUILDING RESERVE MONEY WE ARE BUILDING NEW TEMPORARY SPACE- $500,000 worth!! I envision our superintendent as the great juggler- he keeps smiling and jumping from one forum to the next assuring everyone he can do it all. NO HE CAN'T!!
We have a great historic school that one board member told me they are planning to raze to the ground. He wants to replace it because they are not in the business of "Historical Schools". O.K.- but what business are you in? Are you in the food business? The mental health business? The daycare business? The meet the needs of every non profit that comes in under a federal grant business?Maybe if you went back to the SCHOOL BUSINESS we could once again have sound buildings and teacher's that could teach school instead of giving up their classrooms to mental health and bully programs and food and every other darn thing than teaching their curriculum. Maybe space could be used for classrooms instead of offices for federal programs that need a home.Let's move cousin Alfred out of the basement and Aunt Mildred and her two kids out of our house and start managing our resources for what they were intended for- free basic education for children in K-12, then maybe the public would once again have faith in public schools.In other words- we need the FEDS OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS!! PACK UP YOUR PROGRAMS AND LEAVE HELENA ALONE!!

GOLD MEDAL LIARS
I was raised as an AMERICAN. I'm not a fool and I know a liar when I see one. I just wish we could get this message to the political left- we are Americans and we don't truck with liars.
Somehow the political left has the idea that they can just manipulate and run over the American people. Any liar can get away with it for awhile- especially when they are working in secret. Heck, no one in this country knew the Common Core train was barreling down the track until they had blasted through our schools. That's what the GOLD MEDAL LIARS do- they sneak around until you find out- then they go to the obfuscation and manipulation tact- saying any ridiculous thing they think they can use.
The thing is, if you are an honest person with an honest agenda- you don't have to sneak around and you don't have to lie. It should also make you scared- look how far they have come OUTSIDE OF THE LAW, OUTSIDE OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, AND OUTSIDE OF THE TRUTH. The Common Core dictators think, as the Obama Care dictators think, that once they've got their garbage in- YOU CAN'T STOP IT! But we've got news for them haven't we? There isn't anything under the sun that was started that can't be stopped, or put another way, everything ends eventually and Common Core will just end much sooner than they planned.
Let's talk about how they played like a mouse. The State Board of Education in Montana is REQUIRED BY LAW to hold public meetings- and these meetings are supposed to be publicly noticed- before they make a mandate that costs money. Heck, they aren't even supposed to mandate curriculums-our constitution says regulate K-12 education- not create it!! But back to the sneaky part- all the meetings these GOLD MEDAL LIARS held were meetings for teachers and administrators!! They don't consider the parents and taxpayers part of the public!! And public notice?? One lady from the Office of Public Instruction told us at a meeting in Big Sandy that we should have all just gone to the OPI website!! Well- the State School Board had the legal obligation- and the last I checked websites are not "public notice". They deliberately kept not only you and me out of the loop but all of our elected representatives ( except superintendent Juneau of course- she stated at a meeting at the Montana Club over two years ago - let it slip- that all our schools would be going to FEDERAL TESTS LIKE THE NAEP- NATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS- but wait a minute- Common Core isn't Federal- but then again Denise- I guess it is- like I said-GOLD MEDAL LIARS.)
AND WHY DIDN'T THEY TAKE THEIR PROGRAM TO OUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES IN THE LEGISLATURE? They didn't want it debated in the light of day. You may have found out about it!! The orchestrators of this grand design over our children did it this way in every state they could- just used State School Boards so they could get around the legal processes of every state-the legal processes that are controlled by state constitutions and laws and have representatives that are voted for by the people.Dictators find constitutions and legislatures so cumbersome- so restrictive- it stops them from just doing what they want.
I don't like to call people liars- but there comes a time. We are the American public and we ARE NOT STUPID!! Quit telling us these are standards- it's insulting to our intelligence. We know exactly what you're doing so give up the lie. Standards don't have tests. Standards don't have to train teachers for specific teaching strategies. Standards don't specify exactly what must be learned. Denise Juneau had the gall to say at a joint legislative hearing this session that "The old idea of teachers having control over their own classrooms is going by the wayside". Yep- teachers have to collaborate to make sure they are doing what they are told.
Another way to lie to a person is to OBFUSCATE. You see- you're just too stupid and you don't understand- just don't worry your pretty little head about it- we'll take care of everything because we know everything and you don't. We have control of the vocabulary too- so we can make up new words and you'll really feel like you don't know what's going on.TEACHING IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!! WE ALL KNOW HOW TO DO IT- EVEN US HICKS HERE IN MONTANA!!" Oh, but this is for the"21st century"- and so what do you know about the 21st century that no one else does? "But we're trying to make your children college and career ready." YOU THINK? What have schools been doing prior to the new Common Core if not making kids college and career ready?"Yes, but we have the secret on how to make kids higher level thinkers who can work on committees for the 21st century". Baloney- 1) you don't do higher level thinking until you know something and little kids need to learn A WHOLE LOT OF SOMETHING before they are going to be higher level thinkers- they also have to have brain maturity for higher cognition 2) you don't have to LEARN in committees to be able to participate on one !!!

Tell your friends and neighbors what is happening because- OUR UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION RESERVES CONTROL OVER EDUCATION FOR THE STATES!! IS THE POLITICAL LEFT OUR GOD?
Many people on the left think that there is no God or that "God is dead". The truth is they think THEY are God. They know best what you should believe and how you should live your life.They know best what your CHILDREN should believe and how they should be raised!! Don't worry your pretty little head about it- they'll take care of everything. Just don't be one of those trouble makers- they will take care of everything because they know best and you should just shut up and follow. Their religion is to remake the world in their image- the new world order social democracy.
In following their religion they do not have to obey laws- they are above laws. The new Common Core was slammed in across the nation without having to worry about those pesky legislatures and all those pesky representatives that the inferior ones voted for. They just used the state boards of education to mandate it, and often those mandates didn't even follow the law! Laws are for us inferior beings that must be led to the light- not for these Gods who know what is best for EVERYONE.
But let's look at what kind of experts these wonderful Gods really are. The new push is suicide prevention. Who wants kids to commit suicide right? This is the perennial box they put people in - if you're not for my idea you want kids to commit suicide!! What elected representative wants to get tagged with that- so they give in. Who would want to be tagged with not caring about education or abused children or starving children etc.? To this date our elected representatives have given in to the point that this country is in seventeen TRILLION dollars of debt and has had its credit rating downgraded!!Even Randi Weingartner from the national teacher's union recognizes that we may be witnessing the distruction of public education in America, (glad you finally recognize this Randi).
But have these Gods created wonderful schools for our children? Have they eliminated hunger or poverty? Do you think they will prevent suicide? Reports are that as usual with these Gods- when the suicide programs come in the problem INCREASES. Suicide prevention classes in California have been reported to have depressed children and in at LEAST one case caused a child in a fragile state to commit suicide, and in one case to have caused a young child to experiment and to die as a result.And who are the experts they are hiring here in Helena to teach all the middle and high school teachers about suicide? At least one of the trainers, not very long ago, was our DRUG PREVENTION expert!! So- people jump around becoming experts wherever the Gods have placed the current money. And- after this training- will all our middle school and high school teachers be experts in suicide prevention? OF COURSE NOT- they will be fingering children as suicide risks when they don't know a thing about it- hmmm- sounds like lots of work for all those unqualified "mental health" counselors the schools are hiring.In other words- lots of work for social workers!! Meanwhile- the kids are out of class and are receiving care from people practicing without a license.
This country had a wonderful founding and is using every piece of ammunition our forefathers gave us in our constitution to fight these Gods who are nothing more than propagandized socialists with the usual vision of panacea that they will never create. The road these Gods have taken this country on has led us to disaster- culturally and fiscally. It's time to return to our founding and turn these Gods out- America will return to greatness when we return to our constitution and our founding principles of freedom. This can happen much easier than you think. In Montana we reduced the number of people who were registered users of pot by SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT just by enacting tougher laws and having the Feds arrest the perpetrators.We know what to do to stop these Gods- the question is- will we do it?? They will be turned out eventually- but how far down will they drag this country before they are turned out? Fight on America.
